    Daily Mail was launched on 4th May 1896 by Alfred Harmsworth, was a broadsheet size until 1st May 1971.

    Daily Mirror was launched on 2nd November 1903 by Alfred Harmsworth. First daily illustrated exclusively with photographs.

  • Daily News

    The Daily News was launched in 1846, it’s first editor was Charles Dickens, it finally merged with the Daily Chronicle in 1930 and renamed itself the News Chronicle.

  • Daily Record

    The Daily Record was founded in 1985 and is a Scottish tabloid newspaper based in Glasgow.

  • Daily Sketch

    Daily Sketch was launched on 2nd March 1909. Absorbed by its sister paper the Daily Graphic in 1946 then merged with the Daily Mail in 1971.

  • Daily Star

    Daily Star was launched on 2nd November 1978.

  • Daily Telegraph

    Daily Telegraph was launched on 29th June 1855

  • Financial Times

    The Financial Times was launched in 1888.

  • The Guardian

    Manchester Guardian was launched on 5th May 1821 founded by John Edward Taylor, changes title to the Guardian on 24th August 1959, then moved to London in 1961.

  • Herald Express

    Herald Express was launched on 13th July 1925 covering the Tobay area.

  • Illustrated London News

    The Illustrated London News was launched in 1842,the world's first illustrated weekly newspaper. It was published weekly until 1971.

  • The Independent

    Daily Sketch was launched on 2nd March 1909. Absorbed by its sister paper the Daily Graphic in 1946 then merged with the Daily Mail in 1971.

    News Chronicle was launched on 2nd June 1930 by the merger of the Daily News and the Daily Chronicle, then Merged with Daily Mail in 1960.

  • The News of the World

    News of the World was launched on 1st October 1843,founded by John Browne Bell. Ceased 10th July 2011.

  • Scottish Daily Express

    The (london) Star was launched on 3rd May 1888 and was a London evening newspaper.It ceased publication in 1960.

  • The Sun

    The Sun was launched on 15th September 1964, formally knowns as the Daily Herald.

  • The Times

    The Times was launched on 1st January 1785, formally known as the Daily Universal Register founded by John Walter I. Britain's oldest surviving newspaper with continuous daily publication. A Broadsheet newspaper until it changed to compact format in 2004. Please Note The Times pre May 1966 had no images or headlines on the front page.

  • Today

    Today launched on 4th March 1986 by Eddy Shah, first national colour newspaper. Ceased publication on 17th November 1995.

    The Western Daily Press was launched on 1st June 1858 based in Bristol covering parts of South West England.

    The Yorkshire Evening News was first Published in 1890.

    Independent on Sunday was launched on 28th January 1990.

  • Irish Sunday Mirror

    Daily Mirror was launched on 2nd November 1903 by Alfred Harmsworth. First daily illustrated exclusively with photographs.

  • Lloyds Sunday News

    Lloyds Sunday News was launched in 1842, but merged with the Sunday Graphic in August 1931.

  • Mail on Sunday

    Mail on Sunday was launched on 2nd May 1982 by Vere Harmsworth.

  • New York Herald

    New York Herald was launched on 6th May 1835. Ceased in 1924.

  • The News of the World

  • Reynolds News

    The Reynold’s News was launched in 1850, renamed in 1962 to the Sunday Citizen. Ceased in 1967.

  • Scottish Sunday Express

  • Scottish Sunday Mirror

    Sunday Pictorial was launched on 14th March 1915 by Rothermere and was renamed the Sunday Mirror in 1963.

  • Sunday Chronicle

    The Sunday Chronicle was launched on August 1855 based in Manchester, in 1955 it merged with the Empire News and then finally merged into the News of The World in 1960

  • Sunday Correspondent

    Sunday Correspondent launched on 17th September 1989. Ceased publication 25 November 1990.

  • Sunday Dispatch

    The Sunday Dispatch was launched on 27th September 1801 but it was called the Weekly Dispatch until 1928, ceased in 1961.

  • Sunday Express

    Sunday Express was launched on 29th December 1918 by Lord Beaverbrook.

  • Sunday Graphic

    Sunday Graphic was launched in 1927, formally known as the Sunday Herald. In 1931 it was merged with the Sunday News. It ceased publication on 4 December 1960.

  • Sunday Mail

    The Sunday Mail is a Scottish tabloid newspaper. It is the sister paper of the Daily Record.

  • Sunday Mirror

    Sunday Pictorial was launched on 14th March 1915 by Rothermere and was renamed the Sunday Mirror in 1963.

    The Sunday People was launched on 16th October 1881 previously known as The People.

    The Sunday Post was launched in 1914 published in Dundee.

  • Sunday Referee

    The Sunday Referee was launched in 1877 known as The Referee, primarily covering sports news till 1939 when it merged with the Sunday Chronicle.

    Sunday Telegraph was launched on 5th February 1961.

  • The Sunday Times

    Sunday Times was launched on 20th October 1822.

  • Sunday Today

    The Sunday Today is a tabloid newspaper. It is the sister paper of the Today newspaper.
